What was your fondest memory of BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?

My fondest memory of BOA Stage and Screen was creating the ‘Only in Brum’ mockumentary. I loved being 1st A.D on this show, the team were amazing and we created some great memories on set that I will never forget. The long shoot days were a great test of our ability and work ethic and gave me a unique insight into the industry.

Why did you attend BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?

I was studying my first year of A-Levels, knowing I wanted a career in the creative industries but I did not think my A-Levels were going to get me where I wanted to be in the industry. I saw an advert for BOA SSP and knew I had to apply because it seemed like such an amazing, industry-led and practical course (it was!)

I am so thankful I made the change in my studies because I would not be where I am now without BOA Stage and Screen.

Lastly, why should students apply for BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?

BOA Stage and Screen is the perfect place for anyone wanting a career in stage and screen. The courses are so practical whilst also combining vital elements of theory, giving you a great head start into the industry. You get so many opportunities you would not typically get at a normal sixth form or college.

The teachers are so skilled, have great connections and have worked in the industry previously so are the perfect people to learn from.

Lastly, a piece of advice for current learners: Fully engage in and enjoy your projects, the two years goes so fast! Take every opportunity you’re given even if it doesn’t sound exactly like what you want to do in the future, every bit of experience and networking is so valuable and will only boost your entry into the industry further.
