Where did life take you after BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
After leaving BOA Stage and Screen I was fortunate to go straight into freelance employment within the BBC, and in the September went on to study management at LIPA. I now work for some of the biggest entertainment brands and uk festival names, including Merlin entertainments, Ynot festival and boardmasters, in their coordination and marketing departments; and will soon be flying out to America to begin my first international contract!
What was your fondest memory of BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
Definitely creating our documentary. It was hard work and at times we definitely defied the odds, but it all worked out perfectly. After continuing this project post study, we’re now on track to release the final product this summer!
Why did you attend BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
I had no clue what I wanted to do going into the course, and had no experience in anything broadcast related. This proves the unbelievable opportunity to develop and progress within just a two-year course! Younger me never would’ve believed I would be in the position that I’m in now.
Lastly, why should students apply for BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy?
It’s a crazy place but it’s a time I’ll never forget! There are so many opportunities that BOA Stage and Screen has to offer, you just have to be willing to go for it. Boa provided me with a platform to push my way into the industry. Don’t get me wrong it’s hard work and requires so much resilience, but that’s the thing I eventually loved, as it prepares you perfectly for the industry.
Lastly, a piece of advice for current learners: Graft for the opportunities, don’t wait for them to come to you.
